My story begins on June 8, 2008 in Texas. It was a simple return home trip from my hometown of Houston to my home in Dallas. On Interstate 45 traveling north bound my vehicle was struck by a truck traveling south bound on interstate 45 at a very high rate of speed. The owner of the other vehicle had crossed the freeway median and gone airborne landing on top of my truck killing my wife and putting me in a coma for a month. When I awoke from my coma I found out my wife had passed and that I had suffered a stroke caused by the swelling in my brain from the impact.
I decided to introduce this site for those who have suffered similar injuries and for those who care for them. I hope it provides a space to share information about the things that have improved our recovery and way of life. I had family by my side every day from the day of the accident. I had supportive friends showing up out my house and the hospital I had a company that held my job for 9 months as they awaited my recovery. Not everyone will have the gifts that I did, but I hope my experiences and the experiences of others can help guide you through this transition.-James (Jamie) Grace
